I moved to Kenya in the early 2000s and lived in Kakuma Refugee Camp due to the civil war between Sudan and the South. While studying and living there, I was inspired by music I saw on TV and online. Despite the harsh conditions and frequent relocations, including a move to Dadaab Refugee Camp, my passion for music grew. Even though life in the camps was tough, and many tried to discourage me, I remained determined to pursue my dream.
In 2018, after years of waiting, we were relocated to the UK and settled in Manchester. My love for music continues to drive me, and I remain hopeful and committed to reaching a wider audience and making an impact with my art.
Our creative process is the ability to adapt and respond to change. Artists view change as an opportunity, not a threat.
Growing up surrounded by melodies, music became a fundamental part of my life. I explored various genres and learned piano and guitar, finding joy in both listening and creating. Music is my solace and inspiration, connecting me to others and allowing me to express emotions beyond words. It remains my constant companion through life's highs and lows. I love inspiring young people who would want to venture into music.
